Eden Cafe
My darling and I visited this restaurant at Club Street. It is quite an extraordinary restaurants as all of its dishes are made with flowers. As we have never tried this cuisine before, we decided to give it a go since its of high recommendation from the boss. =D
This dish you see here is an interesting dish. It is made up of tubular spaghetti. cherry tomatoes, bread crumbs (self made) and basil leaves ( the whole leaf ). I would say that the dish lack a bit of taste because according to the owner no salt was used for this but instead anchovies were used as a substitute for salt.
Photography: Sigh, seriously need to think about getting a tripod, flash and macro lenses. Else I can always go for some muscle training so that I can hold the camera with more stability.
I honestly cannot remember what dish is this but this is penne with basil leaves and again, minimal salt. Not tasty like the spaghetti but at least this is less oily, or at least to the naked eye.
Photography: Same comment as just now, but this time round I managed to get a close up shot of the food. Could say that this is the best from the Eden Cafe series.
Ever heard of creamless mushroom soup? Almost all the time I walked into a restaurant, they only serve cream of mushroom. Well this is an eye opener for me. The taste of the mushroom is intense except that I thought a little salt would do some good.
Photography: Brown is always a challenge for food photography but this time round we had the flowers and spoon in so that it doesn't look plain.
I must say the only thing that makes me feel good about the place is the portebello mushroom sandwich. The freshness of the mushroom is almost instant as you take your first bite. Combined with the lettuce, tomatoes and home made egg less mayonnaise is fantastic.
Photography: Sigh, I lack experience, what can I say. I'll work harder I promise!
Food Trail
This is my first food trail with my darling. I was the photographer and having fun with my darling's Nikon D40X with 18-35mm kit lens. Lens wasn't that great but managed to take some shots. Although they aren't that great but worth a look I guess. =X
This photo was a shot of a Turkish dessert (cannot remember the name). Anyway, it was a little out of focus so I didn't think it was that great.
The first restaurant we've been to is called ALATURKA. Its somewhere is Arab street. They serve pretty nice food and place has nice decoration but personally, Turkish food to me is about skewers of meat, but I didn't see it there, hence a little disappointed.
The second stop was Delimorrocan. They serve pretty ok Morrocan food. Maybe its just me because I didn't really liked the flavours that the food carried out but the potatoes were nice!
We were served a total of 5 dishes there. The only thing I wanna comment about is the plates they serve the food in. Interesting and I thought its quite nice for photography, so I took some shots of it.

MALDIVES
(Sunrise)
We didn't know what to expect before arriving at Maldives and to our amazement, we saw this!
Maldives is place with spectacular view and scenery. Life in Maldives is just basically relax and enjoy. Literally...
I love the water and the sky! The water is crystal clear, so clear you can see the fishes swimming...... ( I'm amazed because water in Singapore is atrocious!)
(Postcard? I think not.)
The one thing in Maldives you'll need is pure water. I tried drinking the water and its err.............. SALTY!
The food was bad, unfortunately. They tried cooking some chinese dishes and they didn't taste asian at all. Tuna and Chapati is all they have! The best meal was probably the pissed off baby baraccuda that my darling caught!
Thailand
Thailand is a wonderful place. Basically in Thailand, you only do 2 things. Eat and shop till you drop. I remember when we were almost reaching our hotel, we saw this tall building (I'm sure folks out there who have been to Thailand wouldn't miss this). It's not just tall, its very very tall.
This is what I am talking about. I forgot the name of this building but all I could remember is that it was remarkable. My uncle told me that this building is sinking everyday because it was built on the wrong soil.
The following days, we went shopping around. From Ma Bok Krong to Che to Che( Night Market ). Bought many many stuffs and spent alot of money. Sadly we didn't travel to the beaches of Thailand. Heard was awesome. I think I might one of these days but there are more countries to go to before I would come back to Thailand.
